John Paul, along with a group of volunteers, intended to donate the garden’s harvest to local food banks and community cupboards. One such cupboard is the Mattie N Dixon Community Cupboard on Main Street in Ambler. Every Monday, the cupboard prepares food orders for families and individuals in need. The gross majority of the food these families receive from the cupboard are non-perishable foods high in preservatives and sodium. The cupboard takes donations from local supermarkets and community members but does not have a steady supply of fresh, local produce. John Paul’s community donation garden will provide families in need with
fresh, local, organic and nutritious produce.
